Match BoltKVM to your physical display layout.

Arranging a KVM should never mean filling in a form. In BoltKVM you move the other Mac's display group to match your desk. BoltKVM uses the aligned boundaries as the edges you can cross.

Share keyboard and pointer control in either direction.

There is no permanently controlling Mac. Either trusted Mac can initiate a pointer and keyboard handoff over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or Thunderbolt Bridge.

F-01Do both Macs need to be signed in to the same Apple Account?
No. BoltKVM pairs devices directly over your local network and never asks for an Apple Account.
F-02Does it work over Wi-Fi?
Yes. BoltKVM works over Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or a Thunderbolt Bridge on the same local network.
F-03How many Macs can share one desk?
The public release is presented and validated for a two-Mac desk.
F-04Does anything leave my local network?
BoltKVM's device communication stays on your local network. The Mac app has no product account, analytics, telemetry, cloud relay, or screen streaming. This website uses aggregate Cloudflare Web Analytics separately. BoltKVM does not bypass FileVault or any macOS security control.
F-05What happens if a connection drops mid-switch?
BoltKVM is designed to release remote control when a connection or permission fails. Physical input on the target Mac keeps priority.
F-06Can I use it with a locked Mac?
Optionally. An existing authenticated peer can send restricted basic input during an ordinary lock session. The option is off by default and cannot unlock macOS or control FileVault or LoginWindow.
F-07Can I drag files across the display edge?
No. File transfer is an explicit action and currently sends one regular file at a time. It does not support drag-and-drop, folders, or file batches.
